On January 2, 1933, Wade Patton and Ruben Miller purchased the insurance department of the Emerson Carey Investment Corporation. This became known as the Wade Patton Investment Corporation. Prior to that time, Wade had worked as a Field Representative for one of the major insurance companies, and Ruben worked for McNaughten Investment Co., who was, and still is, a real estate agency in Hutchinson.

Wade Patton Investment Corporation was originally located at 15 E. 2nd Street in Hutchinson, KS. After 28 years in that location, the agency was moved to East 4th Street, and then to its current location in September of 2010.
